Update on Toby

Toby first came on November 6, 2011, so he’s been coming here for over four years. He looks very healthy now.

Almost every morning, he is sitting outside the front door waiting to come in for his breakfast. After eating, he usually meows to go back out again, and usually stays out all day.Sometimes he comes back in the afternoon and takes a very long nap on his favorite blanket, but usually he comes back in the evening. Sometimes he wants to go back out soon after his dinner, but sometimes he sleeps on his favorite blanket or our bed until 3 or 4 in the morning, then meows to go out.

Sometimes when he comes, he is very dirty, but usually he’s very clean and white. If you see a dirty spot on the back of his neck, it’s because of the flea medicine that attracts dirt.

Toby is back!

Toby came back on Tuesday night! He was very skinny (more than two pounds lighter) and had trouble walking. We took him to the vet and he got an antibiotic shot and his booster shot, and an x-ray and blood test. He didn't have any broken bones.

His blood test came back today: all OK. He is walking better today too! Since his blood test didn't indicate that he needs any more treatment, we let him go back outside this afternoon. Happy Toby!

Toby is missing!

We haven't seen Toby for 4 days. We miss him very much. It's been a year since his blog started, and a year and a half since he first came. Come back, Toby!

Fighting Toby! :(

Toby-kins was fighting last night. :( It was loud screeching and yowling. I went to go pet him, and he was super intense. I later saw that he was fighting with one of the black/white spotted cats.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Poor Toby got wet in yesterday's rain and I dried him off with a towel. If he would just stay in his little house while it's raining, he could stay dry! But maybe it's too hot.

Toby was at our house tonight, and he was happy to see me. :)

Toby's Saturday

Toby was here this afternoon and had his quarter cup of Friskies. Happy cat! I didn't hold him because I was wearing a black shirt, and as we know, Toby sheds a lot.

Toby's Blog

So this is a blog to keep track of our neighborhood cat, Toby. (That's just my name for him... you can refer to him as anything you usually call him.) Why do we have this blog? 1. So Toby doesn't get too much food. (What if he's filling himself up at every house around the block?) 2. So everyone can be updated about how he is medically. For instance, if, for some reason, he has to go to the vet, someone could post "Bringing him to the vet today for ." Why do we need to know what other people are doing with Toby? So he doesn't get five of the same shots. That would be bad. 3. So we can kind of track him down, just to make sure he didn't run off to Louisiana or something. "Have you seen Toby lately? He hasn't been around my house for a while." "That's because he's been around my house. He's completely okay." With this blog, all of us can post updates about him (even things like "He just scarfed down a whole bowl of food... He's so hungry today!") and we'll have a Toby-loving community so we know who exactly is familiar with our little neighborhood cat. What do you all think?
